Radial Pressure Wave Therapy/Shockwave uses radial, pneumatically-generated, low-energy acoustic waves, or ‘pressure pulses’. The applied pressure pulse propagates radially within the tissue, generating a therapeutic effect.
The modality has been shown to effectively help reduce pain, increase blood flow, and activate connective tissue in the treated area.
Some conditions/indications that have shown improvement using this therapy include:
- Myofascial Trigger Points
- Plantar Fasciitis
- Heel Spurs
- Chronic Shoulder pain
- Bicep tendonitis
- Tennis elbow
- Golfer's elbow
- Achilles tendon inflammation
- Patellar tendonitis
- Shin splints
- Cervicogenic Headaches
- Low back spasm
